A Drawing & Guessing Game for Couples

Scribble is the simplest game in Honest Mailbox and usually the one that gets the most laughing: one of you gets a word and draws it on a shared canvas, the other guesses in real time. It needs no setup and no real skill — a bad drawing is funnier than a good one anyway.

It works the same whether you're sitting next to each other or hundreds of miles apart: the canvas updates live, so the guesser watches the drawing take shape stroke by stroke, exactly like being in the same room.

The word list leans toward ordinary, everyday things — nothing obscure enough to need a dictionary, and nothing so easy it's guessed before the first line is even finished. That balance is most of why it stays fun round after round.

How to Play

  1. 1One of you is given a word to draw; the other sees a blank canvas.
  2. 2Draw it however you can — stick figures are fine. Your partner types or taps their guess as you go.
  3. 3A correct guess scores a point for both of you, then you swap who's drawing.
  4. 4Keep going for as many rounds as you like.

Tips

  • Don't overthink the drawing. Fast and rough beats slow and careful — the clock is part of the fun.
  • If your partner's completely stuck, a couple of quick extra lines are fair game. It's not a competition against each other.
  • This is a great "we're both tired but want to do something together" game — low effort, guaranteed at least one laugh.
  • Play it right after a heavier game (Truth or Dare, a deep question deck) to end the session on something light.
  • Take a screenshot of the funnier attempts before you swap turns — they're worth having later.

Questions People Ask

Do we need any drawing skill?

None at all — most of the fun is in how bad the drawings are. It's built for guessing fast, not drawing well.

How many rounds can we play?

As many as you like — swap who's drawing each round and keep going for as long as you're both having fun.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, it's built mobile-first — draw with your finger, same as any touchscreen sketch app.

What if we're not in the same place?

That's exactly what it's for. The canvas updates live over the internet, so you see each stroke as it happens no matter where you both are.

How many words are there?

Enough that you won't see the same word twice in a normal session — everyday objects and ideas, nothing that needs explaining first.

Can the artist give hints?

There's no built-in hint system, but nothing stops you from adding a line or two if your partner's genuinely stuck — it's a game between the two of you, not against each other.

Is there a time limit per word?

No — draw and guess at whatever pace feels right, with no clock pressuring either of you.

Can we save a drawing we both liked?

Take a screenshot before the canvas clears for the next round — there's no separate gallery built in for keeping them.

Is this good for video-call date nights?

Yes — it's one of the most "together-feeling" games in the app since you can talk and watch the drawing happen live at the same time.

Can more than one round happen back to back?

Yes — swap who's drawing after each word and keep going for as long as you both want.

What happens if the guesser gets it right away?

Nothing stops you from moving straight to the next word — there's no minimum time the drawing has to stay up.
